The play of light and shadow fascinates me — especially on those first autumn mornings in late summer, when mist settles in the forests and the sunbeams suddenly become visible, as if the light itself were breathing.

I photograph directly against the light. In doing so, a mysterious depth emerges: the background dissolves into infinity, while the nature in the foreground transforms into a detailed silhouette — precise and enigmatic at once.

With my dog, I roamed through the forest in search of that one moment — that fleeting instant which carries a secret within itself. Back in the studio, I sift through my haul of captured moments, make decisions, discard, keep — and work the images further at the computer.

Until a photograph becomes a work in its own right. Until it can tell a story. Which story that is remains open — for that belongs to the viewer.
