BBA proudly presents the work of Vishal Shah, a Berlin-based art director. Originally from London where he graduated at the Royal College of Art, he now works as a commercial art director and as an independent artist.
On show is the animation short 'epoh' and the German premiere of his brand new piece 'Vellum' A moving sound sculpture. A curated selection of his self-initiated explorations. Shah directs and produces moving image work, which has been notably shown and selected at respected international art and visual music events across Europe, America and Asia.
'This is not a Bass drop. Listen to any Autechre or Boards of Canada album and you’ll know what it’s like when artists design sound recordings in an almost three-dimensional way. A trip into a rainforest presents a more spatially and physically sonic three-dimensional variant of this experience. With Vellum, Berlin-based art director Vishal Shah creates a moving sound sculpture that looks like a colorful 3D version of Peter Saville’s ‘Unknown Pleasures’ album sleeve mixed with the ocean’s deep, mountainous topographies.'
