This image was taken during a moment of pause, while a group of soldiers assembled for an official photograph. I captured the scene before it resolved into its final image. The formation is already fixed. Individual presence has been absorbed into a collective structure, but the image itself has not yet been sealed. What remains visible is this intermediate state — where organization is complete, but its representation is not. The color is constructed afterwards. It does not describe the scene, but reinforces it, enforcing a surface where uniformity is no longer observed.
