Jens Juul | 'Six Degrees of Copenhagen' Book

Beschreibung

First edition hardcover book
Printed on 150g Arctic Volume White Paper

Jens Juul’s 'Six Degrees of Copenhagen' is an ongoing, black-and-white portrait series exploring human connectedness based on the "six degrees of separation" theory. The photographer begins by approaching a stranger on the street, engaging them in conversation, and taking an intimate portrait in their private home.

Crucially, each subject then recommends another person from their personal network, effectively passing a "baton" to the next subject, allowing Juul to travel through the city’s social fabric. The resulting raw and vulnerable images blur the lines between documentary and art, offering a profound glimpse into the shared humanity and diverse lives of Copenhagen's inhabitants. The series has earned multiple international photography awards.
