Unique work

Yörük / Nomad is a hand woven textile that functions as an interactive sound instrument. Developed through research into Anatolian weaving practices, the work draws on traditional motifs and techniques passed through generations, including recurring symbol Eli Belinde.

Conductive fibres and sensors are embedded directly into the woven surface, allowing the textile to respond to touch. Through physical contact, the viewer activates sound compositions that range from rhythmic patterns to layered sonic environments, transforming the kilim into a performative interface.

The work explores weaving as both a material practice and a system of knowledge transmission. By integrating electronics within traditional structures, Yörük / Nomad shifts the textile from object to instrument, opening a space where memory, gesture, and technology intersect through interaction.
