Blaumeise 2 is an oil painting from my Spring Awakening Series, capturing a blue tit in a quiet, fleeting moment. The bird pauses among blueberries and fruit, appearing to consider its next choice. It is a familiar scene for many city dwellers in Berlin: the brief visit of a wild bird landing on a balcony, bringing an unexpected moment of life and movement into an ordinary day.

What fascinates me is the short connection that forms in these encounters. For a few seconds, everything else fades into the background. You watch the bird, wondering what it will do next, aware that the moment is temporary. The animal seems both present and elusive, free to leave at any second.

Through vivid colors and expressive oil paint, I wanted to capture not only the beauty of the bird but also the feeling of these small encounters with nature. The painting invites the viewer to slow down and experience a moment of curiosity, attention, and connection. It is a reminder that life often reveals itself in the briefest of visits before taking flight once again.
