ANATOMY OF FADING MEMORIES explores the fragility of memory, navigating the terrain between fragment, emotion and loss. Diverse visual worlds overlap to form a visual landscape in which personal and collective memories simultaneously emerge and vanish. Floral elements, interior and exterior spaces, people, animals and swathes of colour appear as remnants of past moments – fragmentary yet emotionally charged. The collage oscillates between order and dissolution: geometric, two-dimensional structures absorb the colours of the respective scenes, framing the chaos of the images and evoking the attempt to capture memories, even as they are constantly changing. Black and grey areas create spaces of oblivion and projection. This creates a poetic tension between closeness and distance, visibility and eradication – a visual anatomy of what remains when memories slowly fade.
