Unique piece
This work shows a view of a latex sheet drying area, with the presence of a ghost-like silhouette of a Vietnamese worker within the image. The photograph is part of a broader assemblage in which archival images are transformed through liquid latex and digital interventions.
The image is approached as a fragment of a larger visual investigation into extraction, in which photographic surfaces become sites where traces of memory, labor, and transmission are suspended between decomposition and recomposition. The bubbles formed within the latex introduce a rhythmic, breath-like quality to the surface, suggesting a form of respiration that runs through the image. This subtle movement evokes the idea that the past is not fixed but remains active within the present, continuing to affect and shape it
