Unique work
Mania explores a state of extreme psychological intensity, where inner energy accelerates beyond control. The fragmented, distorted figure appears caught in a moment of collapse and expansion simultaneously. Limbs stretch, break, and dissolve into rhythmical forms, suggesting a body overwhelmed by its own momentum.
The sculpture captures the unstable nature of manic experience: heightened perception, urgency, and a flood of thoughts that resist order. Movement is implied but never resolved, creating tension between vitality and disintegration. The absence of the head emphasizes a loss of rational control, replacing it with raw sensation and impulse.
Contrasting textures and surfaces reinforce this instability—smooth, organic forms collide with rough, fractured areas. Mania does not depict a single emotion, but an ambiguous state that is both powerful and destructive, where creative force and self-destruction coexist.
