Sylvie Wozniak (b. 1965), who trained in contemporary dance and subsequently at the École supérieure d’expression plastique in Grenoble and Valence, as well as at the University of Chinese Calligraphy and Painting in Shaoxing, China, is a visual artist based in Geneva.

Her often monumental and serial works present her audience with so-called realistic painting that frequently extends into a three-dimensional framework.

By creating immersive settings, she alters the perception of space and the body, lending it a theatrical quality. Drawing on what lies outside the frame, she includes the visitor in her narrative.

Her research explores perspectives, receptions and transmissions.

The body, whether naked or clothed, serves to gather and connect the codes of the divine. It forms part of a tacit narrative.

She recently exhibited at the Pont-Scorff Contemporary Art Centre in France and has been selected for the NordArt 2026 exhibition in Germany, as well as for the National Museum of Bangkok in 2027.
