Anne Moses is a British artist living and working in the UK.

While her artistic approach has evolved over time, core themes consistently define her practice: detailed observation of skin, facial features, and texture, montaged imagery, and a sense of ambiguity. Her primary area of interest remains the human face and form capturing universal emotions and sensuality through close-up scrutiny. Creating larger-than-life paintings, Moses explores fragments of existence at close range, translating fleeting moments, subtle sensations, and introspection onto canvas.

“The two paintings Sleeping Mimi and Closer are not portraits as such. I view them more as portrayals of captured moments in time, fragments of the human face in repose and reflection—universal human traits that we can all relate to.”
