Melanie Giovanna Landro is a visual artist born in Paderborn in 1969, who currently lives and works in Berlin. She is an artist who always raises a question about social issues, visual commentary, and the dialogue between color and material, based on fine collage art.

Her latest practice is an exploration of analogue, digital, and mixed-media materials, giving forgotten paper a completely new narrative. From her recent studio methodology in Berlin—combining photographs, newspaper clippings, found objects, and digital transformations—the artist tries to bring multi-layered, overlapping tactile structures back to our reality. The dynamic combination of compelling motifs is continuously confronted with an intuitive and open-ended working process. She describes her work as a space for immersion and storytelling, where accidental pictorial discoveries and the physical acts of cutting, tearing, or folding condense into a creative unity. Her work is rooted in a fascination with the unexpected, merging commentary on social problems within the form of deeply engaging, dreamlike visual scenes.

Landro’s career is marked by regular exhibition activities. She has been invited to numerous showcases both locally and internationally, including a solo presentation at Bikini Berlin, as well as group exhibitions at Lite-Haus Galerie, Galerie Grolman, and Chromart Project Space in Berlin, the Hamburg Affordable Art Market (HAAM), and international venues in Rome, Barcelona, and Ghent.
